I'm confused because everyone tells me this MPEG Streamclip is free, but i can't seem to do what i want because it's telling me to pay $20. and it says 'you can buy it online', so i'm assuming it's not free.Įven when i try and open the DVD in Streamclip it gives me another warning saying that i don't have the component installed and to go to the same site and that it'll cost about $20. i go to the site but i don't see what i'm suppose to be downloading. ![]() You must install the MPEG-2 Playback Component before trying to export MPEG2 files! You can buy it online from Apple: However, when i go to load the DVD in and export it as a quicktime movie it tells me. Download, install and launch Wondershare UniConverter on your PC/Mac, then drag & drop the QuickTime MOV files you want to add to the program directly. This component could also play back non-protected DVD discs as well. Audio files supported by this component are any of the above files that contain audio layer 1 or 2. ![]() So now i'm trying to pull the footage off of my DVD's using MPEG Streamclip because I was told that is the best way to do it. QuickTime MPEG-2 playback component supports a number of files such as mpg, mpeg, vow, vroom, m2v, m2a, and m2s. And that worse case situation happened when my hard drive died. I've got some backup videos i've shot and stored on DVD in case of a worse case situation.
